Environmental Noise Monitors

ACI exclusively uses Bruel and Kjaer Type 1,  2250/2270 sound level meters in all environmental noise monitoring cases.  Each monitor is capable of the following:

  • Comprehensive Sound Level (CSL) Surveys as per the   AER Directive 038 and the AUC Rule 012
  • Simultaneous dBA, dBC,   1/3-Octave Logging
  • Full digital high resolution audio recordings
  • Real-time frequency analysis
  • Remote access via 3G cellular modems
  • Daily status notifications and error reporting
  • Data transfer and remote control

The sound level meters are placed in custom environmental cases which allow the sound level meters to:

  • Operate autonomously for extended duration of several weeks/months/years
  • Operate on solar power, battery power, 110V
  • Operate in harsh environmental conditions (cold temperatures, high winds, heavy rain, etc.)

Noise monitors are certified semi-annually and field calibrators are certified annually by an external laboratory to ensure highly accurate results.

Noise monitorings are typically accompanied by portable meteorological stations for accurate local environmental conditions such as:

  • Wind speed and direction
  • Temperature
  • Relative Humidity
  • Barometric Pressure
  • Rainfall

Meteorological stations are capable operating autonomously for weeks/months/years and have 3G cellular remote access for real-time weather conditions and data download
